I have figured it out!
So, we have seen the nationalization of America's financial institutions. And everytime one of the institutions that were forced to accept TARP dollars, even though they fundamentally did not need it, tries to repay the government, the government finds a new way to make them keep it. We have seen irresponsible bailouts of America's automotive industry and the rewarding to the biggest cowards and losers who are the United Autoworkers Union. Senior secured lenders were forced by the strong arm of the new administration to accept the $0.30 on the dollar for their investment, while unsecured lenders, the UAW, received a large portion of equity in the new entities.
Now, I have figured it out! As long as BO keeps the government's dirty hands in the financial institutions, GM and Chrysler will have an unending river of cash. Here is how it will play out. GM and Chrysler will unfortunately exit bankruptcy with new capital structures, primarily funded by their new common stockholders, BO and his band of merry government men and preffered shares, owned by who else, the United States of America. They will have some long-term debt, financed by none other than the United Stated government. No financial institution in their right mind would loan either of these companies money, as the precedent has been set that if, and when they default next, the lenders will recover nothing. BUT, prior to the next general election, BO will be able to show that the government was able to recover most, if not all by then, of their investment. The same financial institutions who are currently not allowed to repay their TARP funds, and I repeat, eventhough they didn't need it, will be forced to invest and loan money to these two dogs, GM and Chrysler, so that BO can run around and claim that he saved the day and the government recovered most, if not all, of their investment.
By this time, Americans will forget about the bailouts of the financial institutions, or BO will claim none other than, "the previous administration," since the TARP money was issued under Bushy.
BO has again set us all up for his rhetoric and he will again fool a number of us into thinking that he is doing a good job for the American people. And if I have to hear one more time that I have to make a sacrifice, so someone who failed to pay their bills can get a government hand out, I am moving to Havana. Might as well know what I am getting into.....and they still drive American cars! Ironically, we don't see too many of them trying to convert those cars into boats anymore and sail them to the U.S. Why would they, soon we will be just like them.
Change, no thank you. You can keep the change!
